A new gambling facility could be opening up at Maryland’s casino industry hub.
According to a report by The Washington Post, a casino would be located at the MGM Resorts International in Baltimore, which would be part of MGM Resorces brand.
The new casino would offer up to $3 million in slot machines, a full restaurant, and other amenities.
The casino would open in 2019.
It’s not yet known how many people would be working at the new casino.
The Maryland Gaming Control Board is expected to finalize its zoning and permitting process for the project in the coming months.
The state has had a reputation for being one of the best states for casinos.
But in recent years, casino attendance has dropped and the industry has struggled to recover from the recession.
According, in 2017, the state had just over 500 casinos, down from nearly 1,300 in 2013.
But that number has been rising.
This year, there were 1,834 casinos in Maryland, up from 1,500 in 2017.
