The NFL’s Las Vegas Sands has opened the world’s first indoor NFL game at its new casino, opening with the Saints in what’s the first indoor football game in the NFL in over a decade.
The Saints play at the Las Vegas Superdome on Nov. 12.
“This is a special event for all the fans, and for our team, who will be playing for the first time in the Dome in over two decades,” Saints owner Tom Benson said in a statement.
“It’s the culmination of our partnership to bring our fans to Las Vegas for the game, and we’re looking forward to seeing all the Saints fans come out and support the team.”
The NFL’s first-of-its-kind indoor game will take place at the new Sands Sands casino, a partnership between the league and the state of Nevada that opened last week.
The game will feature six teams in the opening game: the San Francisco 49ers (a.k.a. the 49ers), the Dallas Cowboys, the Oakland Raiders, the New York Jets and the Atlanta Falcons.
The game will be televised live on NBC and the NFL Network, with the final score projected on Sunday night.
The NFL announced the Saints as the first team to play the game at the Sands, which opened last year as the Nevada Sports Authority.
The Sands opened in January as part of a $500 million expansion of the Las Vegas Convention Center and casino.
